Paris Region Green Spaces Get New Chairwoman

A local elected representative, demonstrating a commitment to the rural areas, Anne Cabrit is the new head of the Paris region Green Spaces Agency (AEV).

Anne Cabrit was appointed chairwoman of the AEV, on February 9, 2016, by the Board of Directors of this administrative public institution.

Anne Cabrit is a regional councillor, a lawyer, and the mayor of Orsonville, a village with fewer than 400 inhabitants, southwest of Paris, France.

In the AEV, Anne Cabrit succeeded Olivier Thomas, mayor of Marcoussis. This appointment comes two months after a change in the political majority in the Paris region (Ile-de-France), following the regional elections of December 2015.

The AEV is the strong arm of the region for the development and management of its natural areas. Bringing together some 140 officers, it owns 14,400 hectares of natural and agricultural areas, of which 72% are wooded areas.
